Went for this as it is arround half the price of most of the other sets.

I purchased it Friday night and it arrived on Monday. So it looks like Amazon have fixed their problem sourcing the weights.

The metal bar is abrasive on bare hands (probably quite good if you use gloves though). However, this was quickly solved using a few layers of clingfilm as suggested by Raj B earlier on.

All in all. A good purchase!

Absolutely nothing wrong with this product – probably the best price you can find anywhere (£20 for 20Kg … not sure how they can even afford to ship it at that price!) The case it comes in is really useful – especially if you’re moving about a lot, or if you just want to fill it up with the weights and lift the box!

My only complaint is the amount of time I had to wait for them to arrive – as amazon was having problems sourcing the weights or something and kept putting back the delivery date (I ended up waiting almost 3 months!). However – amazon customer services are extremely good and the price I don’t really mind waiting a bit.

This is a useful set of weights at the lower end which come in a sturdy palstic box (since I did mislay a bright green kilo weight this is n’t a bad idea) My only caveat is that these are shiny and actually a little sticky- I do prefer the matt grip of the dumbells produced by Reebok (Reebok Handweight but they only come in full kilo intervals. York weights are also availably singly for higher sizes (York Fitbells (Single))

I got the weights recently and really like them. I have found them to be sticky but you do not notice this when your using them and it helps the weights to stay in your hands. The Sizes are 2.5 Kg, 1.5 Kg and 1.0 Kg. They are easy to use and within days of using them I have found that my arm muscles are getting builded up which is what I wanted. I fully recommend these weights if you are a beginner or novice just like me.

PURE FITNESS & SPORTS 50KG VINYL WEIGHT SET WITH SPINLOCK BAR

….I walked out of my over-priced gym in disgust.

The service & facilities were way too sub-standard for the monthly fee i was paying. It occurred to me that home ( I have two!) was were the heart, blood & sweat should be.

So for the price of way under two months gym membership, i purchased two sets. One for my place and one for my fiancees and it was an inspired move!!!.

The long dumbell bars make behind the head and back of the neck bicep training ideal. The grips are comfortable & durable…not a combanation you get often.

The spinlock bar is long and ideal for me ( being 6ft 3″ & broad). Front thrusts and behind the back lifts are effortless.

The weights slide onto the bars without a single issue.

One ( Very) minor issue is that the plastic weight collars can work a little loose, if not tightened correctly. You got to be on the ball when changing weights.

But don’t let that detract you from purchasing an all round, excellent, value for money product.
